SUMMER JUNIOR PROGRAMME DUBLIN
(11 – 17 years)
We believe that during summer students should not learn only from textbooks, but they also ought to explore English in different situations and contexts. That is the reason why our social programme is so important. We spend a lot of time and energy providing students with the most interesting programme outside the classroom. This year we will again cooperate with a language school in Dublin.
Atlas junior school, Dublin
This school was established in 2007 and it has one of the best junior programmes in the city. This exclusive programme takes place in a school surrounded by nature and located only 10 minutes from the language school, which is in the centre of the city. Their fun and motivating classes focus on making students well-acquainted in given topics and projects, which are connected with real life and students‘ hobbies. Students do not have to buy tickets for public transport since they are driven and picked up when they leave and go back to their host family. This also means that they do not have to walk through Dublin. All of the things that were mentioned make this programme a lot safer for younger children. Junior centre has amazing facilities made up of 30 light and spacious classes, sports hall, playing fields, basketball court and a huge concert hall. Dublin is a beautiful city that you will fall in love with. The school has branches in Galway, Bristol, Chichester and Santa Barbara.
Programme
Programme changes every week, which means that activities change every single week, but schedule is the same. Students are given ride to school by private bus between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. From 9:30 to 11:30, students will practice grammar, vocabulary and functional language. This will happen during courses based on their level of English. Students will write a test and have an oral exam. They will be put into groups based on their skills (an online test, which should be taken before departure is available in SPEAK and students do it after consultation). They will have a break from 11:30 to 12:00. Lessons between 12:00 and 13:00 will be focused on pronunciation, learning new words, talking and gaining more knowledge about Irish culture. Lunch break will occur between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. Students will take part in a social programme from 1:30 to 4:30. Such programmes include walking along the embankment from Dalkey to Killarney, formulas, bowling, going into museum or any other of the many activities. Each of them takes place outside and team leaders. Children are then picked up by bus and given ride to host families where they will dine at 5:00 p.m. All the activities that take place in the afternoon are led by teachers and team leaders who come from the USA, England and Ireland. Besides learning and cultural activities there is a possibility to play bowling, go on kayak or a day trip to London, Cardiff, spa town Bath, waterpark, museums and galleries, but also to drive formulas. Our coordinator converses with children only in English.
Host families
These families are chosen very carefully and in accordance with Irish legislature. Names and information about the family will be sent to you one week before departure. They live in a residential area surrounded by nature and situated near the famous park, which will be a place where activities after 4:30 p.m. will occur. All of the families live close to each other in the southern Dublin. They spend time with students especially on Sundays when they can go on various trips together. The families are fully responsible for the students and provide them with breakfast, lunch as well as dinner.
Dates
A departure of all who applied is usually scheduled for early August from the airport in Bratislava. Stays last either for two or three weeks. We need to know if you are interested as soon as possible. The flight ticket price and the program price must be paid by on the day of signing. Information about the host family is sent to the student before the departure.
Flights and transport

We will come to Dublin at around 7:05 p.m. local time. A bus driver will wait for the students and give them a lift to the house of the host family. A ride from the airport to the school (to the city centre) takes 20 minutes. The coordinator will be at the airport, in the airplane and also in the house of a family. However, the exact times can be changed until the beginning of the stay.
