It is o programme for teenagers who are between 15 and 17-years-old (student should not turn 18 during the programme). The stay is possible during term or academic year. Students are provided with accommodation in families and food. Late registration can be accepted only if student will able to get visa and other people can still register in the programme. Registration for the arrival in August is possible until 1.4. and for the arrival in January until 1.10.

Specification of the destination:

In English Canada, students can choose between Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island) and Western Canada (Saskatchewan, Manitoba). However, they can also go to area around Toronto. Both of the places are very different concerning culture, but either of them have interesting things to see. Hospitality of Canadian environment manifest itself day by day.

Nova Scotia: students will enjoy a breath-taking Atlantic environment. It is influenced by culture of indigenous peoples, France, Scotland, Ireland and Africa.

Prince Edward Island: it is a province made up of several islands and it has 140,000 inhabitants, who speak English. It is a mix of marine parts and countryside with beautiful sceneries and just few industrial zones.

Manitoba: its capital city is Winnipeg, which is a historical commercial city for “First Nations”. However, it was occupied by France in the 18^th century.

Saskatchewan: all you need to do is travel for 5 minutes and you will see beautiful steppes and giant blue sky. It is primary countryside, which is suitable for everyone! Saskatchewan offers a lot of activities, such as camping, riding a bicycle, winter skiing and also water skiing. It has tourism, natural resources (gas, oil) and healthy agriculture.

School programme

Students live with families and attend a local high school.

NEW! There are two possibilities of study:

1. Non-credit program – suitable for students who want to go to Canada solely because of the stay and do not ask for their credits to be added. In this case, there is a possibility of a cheaper programme.
2. Credit programme – suitable for students who wanted to gain credits for their study. In this case, they have to pay for international school evaluation. Student chooses the school. Their list is on request.

Bilingual study

Montreal is a heart of bilingualism in North America. Students will attend an English school and live in a French family. This gives them the possibility to get better in both languages without going to two countries. Montreal is the second city where people speak French the most. The first one is Paris.

Arrival

Transport from the nearest airport to a host family. First meeting will occur right after the arrival.

Requirements

Students have to go through an interview and only after that they can be accepted to the programme. They have to be studying English or French for at least two years and have good results (SLEEP test is required concerning English). Student is required to study at high school in his or her homeland and cannot surpass 11 years of study. In case the student has less than 500 points from SLEEP test, three-week English consultation is required.

Information about school

School was established in 1964 and it has a very good international reputation regarding education. There are very good conditions for studying. The study takes place in a calm, safe and friendly environment. Classes have a modern equipment. School admits 6,000 students per year. 200 hundred of them are from 20 different countries. School is located 2.5 hours from London. Two faculties offer: equipment for taking photos and videos, art study, modern classes, gym, tennis court, etc. Swimming pool is for free! Fitness center is located there as well. Various trips are organised, such as day trips, roller skating, trips to big cities, etc. The school year starts at the beginning of September and ends at the end of June. Students can choose from four programmes:

• AS and A-level: general subjects
• Specialised subjects
• International entrance to universities for A-level

Courses for A-level (11^th year of study) New!!!

It is a course, which lasts for one year and prepares students for two-year A level, or for one year of another preparation to university. Students will be given a certificate, which is an equivalent to 5GCSEs. It is a requirement for an upcoming in the UK. Students have subjects, such as IGCSE English language, IELTS course, basic English, Mathematics, Basic mathematics and three other subjects that they can choose. They are Business, History, Psychology, English literature, Law, Sociology, Biology, Information technologies and Physics.

AS and A-level (12^th and 13^th year of study)

The most foreign students choose AS programme (A-level in the first year, one year of studying) or A-level itself (two-year study). A-level (Advanced Level) is a general certificate of education in the UK and it is usually gained by students in the last two years of their secondary studies. Faculty offers 16 subjects. One of them are: Science, Chemistry, Communication and culture, Economics, English language, English literature, Film study, Mathematics, History, Law, psychology, Physics, Sociology and Statistics. Students are also preparing for IELTS exam (4.5 hours a week). It is expected that students will take examination in May or in June. They study 20/25 hours a week (it depends on the number of subjects chosen by a student). However, together with school clubs they are expected to study for 30/35 hours a week. 99% of students pass A-level. Students can send applications to University College London Warwick University, Durham University, Bath University, King´s College University, etc.

Vocational diplomas (12^th and 13^th year of study)

School also offers a lot of vocational subjects in Level 3: they are BTEC and last for two years. They are an equivalent of three A-level courses, but they are more vocational. Study of vocational subjects prepares students to a successful admission to specialised universities.

Accommodation

There are two types of accommodation – either in a host family and student will travel to local high school, or in a dormitory (136 modern rooms for one person with internet connection). Kitchen and bathroom are shared. There is also a laundry room.

Transport

Transport from the airport in London to a host family or dormitory. After that students are given information for the first time.

Requirements

Students have to go through interview before being accepted to the programme. A-level requires a B1+/B2 level. Score has to be equivalent for IELTS 5.0. AS-level and BTEC – equivalent to 5GCSEs “C” and higher – some subjects may in general require B or B/C, a middle level of English language (B1+/B2), IELTS 5. Student has to be older than 17-years-old and pass IELTS 5.5. and TOEFL 520 exams.

ENGLAND GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Information about school

High school is situated in the beautiful Cotswolds in a heart of England and only two hours from London. It has two faculties and 99% success rate in terms of A-level exams. It offers a lot of cultural and sport activities but also library, lunchroom and internet for free. The school has 500 international students a year and organizes welcoming party, trips, excursions to London, Bath, Oxford as well as sport events (Wednesday) and international lunch. A lot of international students take part in tournaments against team from another school. There is also a new gym among other things. The city has a beautiful cathedral and Harry Potter was filmed there! Term starts in September and ends in June.

Pre-A level (11^th year of studying) New!!!!

It is a study, which lasts for one year and prepares students for two-year A-level. Students will study general English subjects and they will have additional two or three subjects: GCSE or Mathematics, Business study and GCSE science.

AS-level (12^th year of study)

Students chooses subjects such as: Economics, Anthropology, Archaeology, Art and Design, Biology, Business study, Chemistry, Drama and Art, English Literature, Geography, Politics, Philosophy and Ethics, History, Law, Mathematics, Media, Photography, Physics, Psychology, Sociology and World Development. Students also have 4.5 hours of English a week. Besides other things there is a possibility to study other foreign languages (evening classes, fee).

Transport

Transport from Heathrow or Gatwick airport to the host family is not included in price. First meeting will take place after arrival.

Requirements

Students have to go through interview before being accepted to the programme. They have to have good school results and equivalent to IELTS 5.5. or IELTS 4.5. in case of A-level and they also have study English for 10 to 11 years in their homeland.

Information about school

The school is situated in a very known city of Cambridge only one hour from London by train. It offers huge modern school facilities but also modern classrooms and lunchroom. 3,500 students study in a regular form and 12,000 in an external one. There are around 1,000 foreign students. The school has a badminton hall, places to play football, netball basketball, volleyball, squash, but also places were the one can work out climb and dance.

Information about school

The school is situated in a national park on the southern shore of England and 90 minutes from London by train. The environment is quiet and friendly. Information about school

Students can choose from two forms of study: 1. At state-funded schools with accommodation in a family (additional fee)

2.placement in public schools, accommodation with a host family through weekends and in dormitory during week

Lessons usually starts at 8:00 o’clock and ends at 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. with an hour-long break for lunch. Some subjects are taught on Wednesday evening or Saturday morning. French education system is divided into: “college” for first four grades that follow primary school (grade 6-9) and “lycée” for the last three grades (10-12). Completion of secondary grades leads to “baccalauréat”. Headmaster decides about the admission of a foreign student. This decision is based on vacancy and knowledge of French language. Students will attend general subjects, such as French language, History, foreign languages (English, German, etc.)

Accommodation in a family

Students live with a host family in a town called Lisses (24.9 miles from Paris). Students can explore culture every day thanks to this as well as get to know their surroundings.

Transport

Transport from airport in Paris to the house/flat of a host family or dormitory. If programme starts in August, students are offered two-week meeting in Paris.

Requirements

Students have to go through interview before being accepted to the programme. Their study of French has to last for at least two years and good results in school are needed. They can attend a language course before the start of the programme. This course lasts for 40 hours and takes place in Paris. Since course is not mandatory, we recommend students to attend it so that their language skills get better.

Germany (students aged 14/15 to 17, depending on programme)

International students attend local school and live with a German family. Family is chosen very carefully and responsibly. School system is divided into four parts “Gymnasium” prepares students for university, “Realschule” offers deeper scientific focus, “Hauptschule” prepares students for vocational study, “Gesamtschule” is a combination of these three parts.

Most of the students choose “gymnasium” or “realschule” programmes. Headmaster of the school decides about the placement. Students chooses from schools in Berlin Hanover, Erfurt, Bonn, Fulda and Freiburg.
